August 1485, Henry Tudor has successfully become King of England following the death of King Richard III, whom he killed at the Battle of Bosworth. The War of the Roses has ended, a war between cousins, those from the House of Lancaster and the House of York. King Henry Tudor the XII has many powerful enemies both at home and abroad. It is your job as the King's most trusted advisors to aid the King ensuring that he: reunites England, deals with nobles that fought against him, forms marriage alliances between Yorks and with European princesses, rebuilds the national treasury, creates his foreign policy strategy, and strikes down any alternate claims to the throne. Tread carefully, delegates. Traitors lie among you, and court is ripe with scandal.
About your director:
Hello! My name is Emilee Jones, and I am a second year student at the University of Florida, double majoring in economics and international studies with a minor in German. I have been competing in Model UN since seventh grade and eagerly joined the UF travel team as a freshman, currently serving as our director of recruitment and retention. I bleed orange and blue and attend as many games as I can. I have always had a strong interest in British history. King Henry the XII’s reign ended the War of the Roses, restored wealth to England and brought about relative stability and peace; this however was not easy and I’m excited to explore all this history with delegates in November!
